Summit Men - Frontier Justice

Guys, this next event is for you! Men today get told all the time in all sorts of ways that they have to be self-reliant men who can do anything and have anything, just by being tougher, smarter and as it turns out, lonelier, than the other guy. We get bombarded by heroes that are solo operators like Jason Bourne, James Bond, Jack Reacher. They show us one guy, taking the world on on their own, and living the dream. Making his own way, by his own rules. Guess what? That’s hopeless. That’s why at The Summit Church we hope to create a place where men can find a community, do life together and become better husbands, dads and followers of Jesus.

It all starts by getting to know other guys in our church family- and you can do just that at our Summit Men’s event at Frontier Justice on Saturday, April 13. The cost is just $20 per person and includes Zarda BBQ for lunch and shooting at Frontier Justice.

Have questions? Contact Connections Director, Chris Chandler.

SuperStart!

We're so excited to invite your child to SuperStart! in February 2019! In case you’ve never heard of SuperStart! before, here is a quick overview. It’s a weekend event produced by Christ In Youth, an organization that has been putting together age-intentional events all over the world for the last 50 years. SuperStart! takes place in a large auditorium, where your child will worship alongside students their age. SuperStart! is an experience they’ll get nowhere else, and it is also one of the safest and most well-organized events for preteens in the country! The goal of this weekend is for every preteen to understand the stories they have to share. We’re very excited and can’t wait to see what God will do through your preteen as they, unhindered, proclaim to the world what He has done.

We will be taking a group of 4th-6th grade kids to SuperStart! in Tulsa, OK February 22-23, 2019, and we hope your child will join us! Believe Middle School Retreat

Believe Middle School Retreat

Middle school students are invited to Believe this Spring! Believe is an event taking place at the Kansas City Convention Center put on by Christ In Youth. It’s March 22-23 and it’s design just for 7th-8th grade students.

The theme this year at Believe is “I AM” and will help students explore their identity in Christ. The idea of identity is a universal struggle. Every generation wrestles with it. Middle school students sit at a pivotal moment in their lives where they are constantly asking the question “Who am I?” A student can’t truly know who they are until they know who God is. And this year CIY’s Believe tour will help your student understand what it means to find their identity in God.

There are hundreds of “I Am” statements in the Bible, but Believe will focus on four key phrases that will be a foundation for students to have deeper conversations about identity: “I am God’s masterpiece,” “I am God’s child,” “I am the church” and “I am a Kingdom worker.”

Believe also offers time for small groups where your child can connect with adult leaders and other students.

Registration for Believe is now open and it's just $99 for your student to attend! Students will leave from The Summit Church on Friday, March 22 at 5:30pm and return at 10:30pm. And leave for Believe on Saturday, March 23 at 8am and return at 4:30pm. Your student will need to bring money for lunch on Saturday, and for any merchandise they may want to purchase from CIY.

If you have questions, please contact Student Ministry Director, Matt Kelley.

Growth Group Study: How To Be Rich

Growth Group Study: How To Be Rich

Beginning on Wednesday, January 30, On-Campus Growth Groups will be beginning a new study called How To Be Rich, and you’re invited!

How To Be Rich is a Bible study from Andy Stanley exploring 1 Timothy 6:18. This study biblically redefines what wealth is, how to use it, and helps you practice being rich. Generosity was the hallmark of the early church. They did for those who could not do or would not do anything in return. That was new. That got people’s attention. Is that how people in our communities would describe us?

This study will begin conversations and reflection around the topic of what to do with what we have. Jesus could not have been any clearer. It’s not what you have that matters. It’s what you do with what you have that will count for you or against you in the kingdom of heaven.

On-Campus Growth Groups meet at The Summit each Wednesday from 6:30pm-8pm. It’s one of the best places to meet some new people and begin to form life-changing relationships while studying God’s Word together. Anyone is welcome to come join! Register online today.

Have questions? Contact Next Steps Pastor Angie Bartlett.
