We are all about helping people follow Jesus and find life.
•Come As You Are
•Make a Difference
Salvation is found in Christ alone.
Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Everything we do points to Jesus.
The Word points the way.
We trust in the authority of the Word to provide us truth about who God is and how we should live in response.
God desires my worship.
We believe that worship happens all week long as we honor God with our lives.
My generosity is a reflection of my heart.
We truly believe it is more blessed to give than to receive.
God is always listening and we are always praying, knowing that God's way is best.
Life is better together.
We were made to be in relationships with others. We are a church of groups because it's the best way for us to grow in our faith journey.
I am a contributor, not a consumer.
The church does not exist for us, we are the church and exist for the world.
We believe in one God who is eternally present in three distinct persons. God the Father spoke the world into being, out of nothingness. God the Son is Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world who lived a sinless life, was crucified, died and resurrected from the dead after three days. God the Holy Spirit is our guide, our helper as we live the life we are designed to live. We believe the Bible is the ultimate source of truth and the guide for Christian living. We believe that anyone can find fullness of life by accepting the gift of salvation offered to all people through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. When we begin to walk with Jesus, we are made new, promised an eternity in the presence of God when our physical life ends. We believe that our role, as the church, is to welcome everyone to hear the Good News about Jesus, accept life in Him and follow as He leads!
What we do
Each weekend, we meet together for worship and to hear a Bible-based teaching from one of our pastors. These gatherings are designed to encourage you and bring you closer to God, while equipping you to go into the world with the Good News of Jesus.
What Is The Role Of Music In Church Worship?
Music plays an important role at The Summit Church for many reasons. Each Sunday we come together as a body of believers to be in community with each other, learn more about who God is, and to worship Him.
The book of Psalms tells us 70 different times that we are to sing to God. Psalm 33 says: 1 “Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise Him.2 Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to Him on the ten-stringed lyre.3 Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.”
It is a joy at The Summit Church to sing praises to our God. Here are a few reasons we worship at The Summit Church:
SINGING CONNECTS US
Having worship music during our services gives us the opportunity to connect with God and with others. Singing allows our hearts to open up to Him and communicate with him in a meaningful and profound way. It is also a means of encouraging and building up those around us, as we sing together as a unified body of believers. It doesn’t matter if we sing out of tune or play the wrong keys. What matters is that our hearts are turned to Him and that we are connecting with the people around us.
SINGING EXPRESSES OUR LOVE
Singing and playing instruments is one way we can express our love and adoration for God. In Matthew 22:37 it says, “You shall love the Lord your God with all of your heart, and with all of your soul, and with all of your mind.” Singing, at its core, is a means of stirring our hearts and souls to adore God! It allows us to show God how much we love Him and how grateful we are for all He has done for us through Jesus.
SINGING REMINDS US OF THE GOSPEL
What we choose to sing here at The Summit is very intentional. We believe that putting words in people’s mouths to sing about God is a sacred thing, and we want everything word that we say and sing to be a reflection of the goodness and faithfulness God has shown us in the gospel. We remind ourselves of the character of God, we sing about the amazing grace He showed on the cross, and proclaim His resurrection over our lives!
