Blair’s Foster Socks, a non-profit organization where donations of clothes, socks, and other necessities that support foster families and children in distressed situations in Kansas City and beyond are collected and then provided to Foster kids. Lee's Summit Social Services (LSSS) is our mission partner. They are an emergency assistance organization that provides resources to meet the basic needs of our Lee's Summit, Lone Jack, Lake Lotawana, and Greenwood individuals and families. You can get involved as a volunteer in their Food Pantry, Thrift Store or during their seasonal special opportunities. During the latter part of May, and beginning of June, they need help with sorting donated food items in their warehouse. These opportunities are great for individuals, families or growth groups.

Harvesters is one of the largest food banks in KC, it serves 26 counties in Missouri and Kansas. The mission of Harvesters is simple: Feed hungry people! You can help them with this as an individual, a family or even as a growth group. Roll up your sleeves, and help Harvesters sort donations and pack food. If you're short on time, you can always donate canned goods. Check the Harvesters website for high need items.
Mother's Refuge is an amazing organization in Independence MO. They take in pregnant women with no resources and help them through their pregnancies and their first year of motherhood. They teach women life skills, help them set goals, and get them back on their feet. There are plenty of opportunities to lend a hand, they're looking for volunteers who can: mentor, tutor, babysit, help around the office, house sit, do minor maintenance, yard work and assist with fundraising. You can make a difference in the life of a child at Crittenton Children's Center were they have excelled for more than a century at effectively treating the mental and behavioral health care needs of children, adolescents, and their families in Kansas City and across the region. Hillcrest Transitional Housing Program is one of our mission partners who provide a Christian environment that helps homeless families become self-supportive. Hillcrest Thrift Store helps support the program and you can be a part of the Volunteer team. Just pick a day a week, three hours a couple of times a week or whatever fits your schedule to help out in the store. Opportunities to help with accepting donations, pricing items, assisting customers and more are available. This is a great serving opportunity for individuals and groups. Habitat for Humanity is a building supply store that accepts and resells quality new and used building materials generating funds used for Habitat homebuilding projects. There are ReStores located in Blue Springs and Independence. Volunteers can assist by picking up items, preparing them to go out of the ReStore floor, pricing, selling and more.
